How Does iReal 2E Perform in Vehicle Scanning?

As we already know, the iReal 2E handheld 3D scanner is most suitable for scanning human body/human body parts and medium and large-sized objects, then, how about using it to 3D scan vehicles?

In this article, we will introduce you to the iReal 2E, a professional 3D scanner that can do outdoor scanning excellently.

3D scanning vehicles under outdoor sunlight

The first case is 3D scanning a white vehicle using iReal 2E. This is a white vehicle with a shining surface. We conducted this scanning test under outdoor direct sunlight, which enlarged the difficulty of the entire scanning.

After sticking enough markers on the vehicle, we used the marker alignment mode of iReal 2E to finish the scanning project.

The second one is a black vehicle with a highly reflective and shining surface, and it was also conducted under outdoor strong sunlight.

We used iReal 2E to capture the 3D data of the engine hood. To ensure the 3D data accuracy, we used the marker alignment mode as well. It took about three minutes to obtain the complete 3D data.

The final case was shared by one of our customers, Eric. To obtain the complete 3D data of the black vehicle, he must take some time to stick enough markers on it.

The real challenge is its black and shining surface and the sunlight, of course. But don’t underestimate the scanning ability of iReal 2E, the 3D data look great.

What about the scanning result when doing it indoors? Our application engineers did a scanning test in the basement car park.

This blue vehicle is also highly reflective and shining on the surface, as you can tell. The marker alignment mode of iReal 2E can help our AEs capture complete 3D data of the vehicle.
