3D Scanning<\/h2>\n

We used KSCAN-Magic 3D scanner with its 0.15 mm resolution to scan this standing model of Sanxingdui ruins. It is important to note that this model has a large number of microcarvings with fine lines, so it is necessary to pay attention to the resolution setting when 3D scanning to restore the maximum surface details. The base of this model is hollow, and the 3D scanner cannot reach its interior, so when post-processing in Geomagic Wrap software, you need to add wall thickness (the shape of the base is not regular, so you need to deal with the edges before doing so). After that, we also need to check whether each edge needs to be processed again.<\/p>\n

Photo shooting<\/h2>\n

Since there are a lot of texture details in the standing figure of Sanxingdui ruins, we used a macro camera in order to restore the surface details as much as possible. However, since the model is relatively tall, we do not need a patterned pad this time. It was necessary to shoot the standing figure in five sections, paying attention to the overlap of each section, and for the inside of the base and under the arms, we shot one circle each to restore each of its details to the maximum extent. We took more photos than usual this time, about 500 in total.<\/p>\n

3DeVOK Mapping Software<\/h2>\n

After the 3D model and photos are ready, you can use the 3DeVOK Mapping Software for color texture mapping.
